Unfortunately, it became evident that Alex would be unable to perform in the music video as he had to go on a trip to Zimbabwe and would also be promoting his other band around the same time that I would have to film. In light of this, I felt that my idea was not strong enough without some kind of performance and therefore decided to get in touch with the lead singer of Snakes Hate Fire via Facebook in order to ask for her permission.
I have chosen the band Snakes Hate Fire because they are a young, current band that would appeal to a wide audience. The quality of their tracks is very professional also, which makes them more attractive to listen to and would make an audience for my video want to keep listening to the song. They are a pop/rock band, and therefore would mostly appeal to a teenage audience but I feel their music could also appeal to young adults, therefore this is the age I will target with my video.
After finding out that split screen may not be achievable for 'Heartbreak Beautiful' from my teachers I thought it would be wise to ask Grace for permission to use 'Innocent' instead, just in case I definitely can't use the effect and can find no way of resolving it other than to use a different song. However, I am still awaiting her reply.
